In Memory of Phillip D. Paris
Leadership Consultant & Dear Friend
Phillip Paris was the definition of “practice what you preach”. With over 17 years protecting and serving his community as a police officer & K9 trainer, and over a decade of leading his team in business, Phillip understood leadership from the ground up.
Phillip’s work as a leadership consultant and mentor wasn’t about fancy theories or corporate buzzwords. It was real, it was practical, and it changed people. Whether he was coaching someone one-on-one or standing in front of a room full of professionals, he had an incredible ability to make people feel like they mattered in a world that tends to do the opposite. His impact on the pet care industry ran deep, helping countless leaders transform their teams, reduce drama, and build the kind of workplace culture people actually want to be part of.
But here’s what made Phillip truly special: he was the guy you could always count on. Hardworking, loyal, always there to lend a hand without hesitation. He made tough days easier and good days even better simply by being himself. And if you knew Phillip, you know his sense of humor was one-in-a-million – the kind of laughter that stays with you long after the joke was over. No matter how heavy things got, he could always find the humor, the ridiculousness, the perfectly timed opportunity for a good, quality laugh.
Phillip was a devoted husband for over 20 years and a dedicated father who loved his two children more than anything. His family, his brothers and sisters in the police community, his clients, and everyone he mentored knew the same thing: Phillip showed up. Always.
He always ended his sessions with this quote: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” That line captures exactly who Phillip was – a man who gave freely, who poured into others, who lit candle after candle without ever dimming his own light or expecting anything in return.
Phillip’s presence lit up every room he walked into, and his memory continues to do the same. Though he’s no longer with us, his wisdom, his laughter, and his profound impact live on through PackPro and in everyone whose life he touched. We’re honored to preserve his teachings in our Leadership & Team Management course, so current and future leaders can continue learning from a man who left this world better than he found it – one conversation, one laugh, one lit candle at a time.
